General Curtis Emerson LeMay was a skilled pilot and commander in WWII and later. Although he became controversial for comments about nuclear weapons, during WWII he was instrumental in reducing the will of Imperial Japan to continue the war.
In July 1944 he was transferred from Europe to the Pacific to direct the B-29 heavy bombardment activities of the 20th Bomber Command in the China-Burma-India Theater, and later commanded the 21st Bomber Command with headquarters on Guam, and still later became chief of staff of the Strategic Air Forces in the Pacific.
General LeMay was a proponent of hitting the enemy with everything. He stated, "If you are going to use military force, then you ought to use overwhelming military force. Use too much and deliberately use too much; you'll save lives, not only your own, but the enemy's too." Celebrate the man with this distinctive shirt!
