George S. Patton, Jr., was a U.S. Army officer who was an outstanding practitioner of mobile tank warfare in the European and Mediterranean theatres during World War II. His strict discipline, toughness, and self-sacrifice elicited exceptional pride within his ranks, and the general was referred to as “Old Blood-and-Guts” by his men.

Even a brief biography of this fascinating man would take pages.  Suffice it to say he was one of the greatest warriors or nation has ever produced.  Controversial during his life, and proved mostly right afterward, he is a fitting spokesman for great ideals. 

Not a big fan of the Bolsheviks, Patton stated, "[T]he Russian [has] no regard for human life and is an all out son of b!tch, barbarian, and chronic drunk."  Maybe an overly broad characterization, but colorful as always.
